Go2Zero provides extensive recycling and zero waste consulting services. Projects include proposal writing and in many instances, development of awarded projects. Project management has been provided for such key projects as the City of Los Angeles Commercial Recycling Pilot, the City of Los Angeles Multifamily Recycling Program, and the City of Pico Rivera design and implementation of citywide recycling programs. Other tasks include the preparation of all periodic and annual reports to municipalities, recycling reports for businesses and cities, and all AB 341 outreach activities.
Go2Zero serves as a subcontractor to Mariposa Eco Consulting to assist the University of Southern California in the preparation and implementation of a Solid Waste Management Plan. Our tasks include:
Provide project management for the development of national training events. Tasks have included the development of a certification training program (Zero Waste Business Associates – ZWBA), the development of an organization Training Strategy Plan and the ongoing oversight of training events around the country.
In collaboration with Cascadia Consulting, Sustainability Academy (formerly Recycleworks) and the County of San Mateo, the Go2Zero team has overseen the development of a volunteer training program. Incorporating the development of classes in key topics such as water conservation, energy efficiency, commercial recycling, green business, and green building, the academy provides free training to community residents and businesses seeking to learn about these important issues. Volunteers “pay-back” through volunteer activities on behalf of the County. Go2Zero provided project management services and oversees the development of all coursework with instructors.
Provided grant writing services associated with the K-12 Recycling Challenge Program.
Provided grant writing services associated Carpet America Recovery Effort – California Carpet Stewardship Grant Program. Project resulted in grant award to client for the purpose of installing new carpet cleaning equipment and funds to test applicable use of cleaned fiber product.
Provided organizational management services for a state-wide non-profit organization. Tasks included the complete management and oversight of an annual conference and trade-show boasting attendance of approximately 600 people annually.
Primary responsibility was the research, development, and oversight of a professional development training program. As part of this project, two grants were written and awarded by the US EPA for $50K and another by the US Department of Labor for $4.8M. Ultimately, the training program certified over 600 people in Sustainable Resource Management and helped to spur the need for training on a national level.
Provide as-needed consulting services and business outreach for recycling and source reduction programs.
Provide all reporting and compliance oversight for a small hauling company operating in Los Angeles County. Key services include proposal writing, city reporting, and other compliance documentation.
Worked with Southern California Edison (SCE) to expand and monitor a recycling program for 77 facilities in Southern California. The project included waste audits at all facilities, redistribution of educational materials and bins, waste collection “right-sizing” analysis, and a 200+ page final report of findings.
Developed a one-day workshop for the major hotels located in the City of West Hollywood. The projected included development of the training program, recruitment of all speakers, as well as all workshop logistics. Another key deliverable of the contract was to create a hotel best-practices manual.
Provided project management for the roll-out of a commercial organics collection programs in the City of Covina, CA. The program targeted commercial establishments and schools which generated significant volumes of food and organic materials for a source separated collection pilot, which was one of the first of its kind in Los Angeles County.
Project included the creation of a 10-year update to the 1990 Source Reduction and Recycling Plan for the Los Angeles World Airport. Project deliverables included auditing of all LAWA businesses, including eateries, to identify diversion strategies and programs.
